This chapter briefly explains almost all the aspects of life such as death, body, soul, and mind, Yoga and the Yogi, action, effect, fruitful result of action, desire, anger, illusion, and fall, attachment and detachment, self-consciousness and steady mind, and imperishable supreme soul.
After seeing the lamenting Arjuna, Bhagavan Sri Krishna asks Arjuna on 'from where the mind dirtiness and lamentation arrived in you.
By hearing this, Arjuna requests Bhagavan Sri Krishna to guide him on 'what is good', 'what is the right way to get out of lamentation' and on 'how the people, who attained the self-realization, will behave'.
After heard these requests from Arjuna, Bhagavan Sri Krishna starts explaining about almost all the aspects of life, by which one can lead a life with full of serenity.
Bhagavan Sri Krishna briefs about truth of death, body, soul, mind, and illusion.
He further explains the importance of being free from fruitful results of actions, performing the prescribed duty, and being self-consciousness of actions and effects.
Eventually, Bhagavan Sri Krishna lays down on what needs to be done to attain serenity in life.
